These juvenile Kelberi Peacock Bass are only a couple inches long today, but they can grow to 12–18 inches in captivity and become the centerpiece of a monster freshwater aquarium.

🔥 Aquarium myths that need to go away... 👀
A lot of aquarium advice gets repeated for years without anyone questioning it. Here's a few myths we're putting to rest:
🐟 Myth #1: Fish only grow to the size of their tank.
Not exactly. Growth is influenced by nutrition, water quality, and overall conditions. While larger tanks make it easier to maintain those conditions, fish can still outgrow small aquariums.
🟢 Myth #2: Popping bubble algae releases spores everywhere.
Bubble algae is unicellular and doesn't spread through spores. If you're removing it, use a siphon while cleaning to help remove any loose algae from the system.
💧 Myth #3: If the tank looks clean, you don't need water changes.
Water changes do more than lower nitrates. They help replenish trace elements and keep your aquarium balanced over time, especially in reef and planted tanks.
🌿 Myth #4: All algae is bad.
Algae is a natural part of every aquarium ecosystem. The goal isn't eliminating it completely, it's keeping it under control through proper nutrient management and filtration.

The six bar angel is one of those fish that instantly becomes the centerpiece of the aquarium 🔥🐠

Driftwood turning your water brown is completely normal 🌿🐠
That brown tint is tannic acid releasing from the wood, and for many freshwater fish, especially South American species, it can actually be beneficial.
If you want crystal clear water, boiling the driftwood and running products like Purigen can help clear things up fast. But for many aquariums, those natural tannins can create a healthier and more natural environment for the fish.

Hair algae problems usually start with nutrient issues 🌊🪸
But once your nitrate and phosphate are under control, tuxedo urchins can be an awesome cleanup crew member for your reef tank.
These little guys are incredible algae grazers, packed with personality, and one of the coolest inverts you can add to a reef setup. Just make sure your water quality is stable, drip acclimate them properly, and glue down your corals because they love picking things up and moving them around 😂
