We're Hiring! Community Engagement Coordinator

Our volunteers are the heart of our organization, and we're looking for a dedicated, organized, and motivated individual to help us continue growing and strengthening our volunteer program while expanding our relationships throughout the community.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will play an essential role in supporting our daily operations, managing volunteer involvement, and developing community partnerships.

- Recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and retaining volunteers.
- Coordinating volunteer coverage for lessons, daily horse feedings, and facility projects.
- Collaborating with our Equine Handling Coordinator to facilitate volunteer orientations, training, and development.
- Building relationships with local schools, colleges, businesses, and community organizations.
- Supporting community outreach, social media engagement, and volunteer recruitment initiatives.
- Maintaining volunteer records, communications, and administrative systems.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader who is organized, dependable, personable, and passionate about serving others. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in volunteer management, administration, or community outreach are highly valued.

As a Christ-centered ministry, our Christian faith is the foundation of everything we do. We are seeking someone who shares our mission and values and is passionate about serving others through faith, compassion, and community.

**Previous horse experience is a plus but not required!**

Position Details:
- Location: Merritt Island, FL
- Schedule: Part-Time, up to 25 hours per week
- Work Environment: Hybrid (Remote & On-Site)
- Compensation: Based on experience and nonprofit board budget approval

Rain or shine, the learning doesn’t stop at Walk on Water! 🌧️🐴

When stormy weather rolls in, we simply pivot! Instead of our usual time in the saddle, we take the opportunity to focus on barn and equine education, hands-on horsemanship skills, and exercises that help our riders grow in new ways.

We believe that becoming a well-rounded horseperson means so much more than just knowing how to ride. It’s about understanding the horse, learning proper care, building confidence, and developing the knowledge and skills that make a true horseman.

Sometimes the most valuable lessons happen with both feet on the ground! 🤎

✨ 20 years ago, Walk on Water began with a calling.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’ve spent a lot of time looking back at where it all started — and at the woman who said “yes” when God placed this ministry on her heart. 🤎

Our founder, Patricia “Patti” Bryan, recently had the opportunity to share her story with OrlandoVoyager, including the journey that led to the beginning of Walk on Water and the heart behind what we do.

What started in 2005 as a vision to bring together horses, people, and faith has grown into something we could have never fully imagined. Over the last two decades, countless riders, families, volunteers, horses, donors, and friends have become part of the Walk on Water story.

Through every season, one thing has remained at the center: God’s faithfulness.

We are so grateful for Patti’s willingness to follow His calling all those years ago and for every person who has helped carry that vision forward since.

Our Harvest Hoedown is NOT happening this week — we still have a little more time before the fun begins! 🤎

🗓 The correct date is Saturday, November 7th from 3–7 PM!

There was simply a misunderstanding in a publication, so we want to make sure you guys know the official date!

🌾 WE’VE BEEN BLESSED — AND NOW WE NEED SOME HELP! 🤎

After years and years of weathering hurricanes, Florida sunshine, rain, and the elements, our old hay shed is finally ready for retirement!

We have been incredibly blessed to have the cost of a brand-new hay shed donated to Walk on Water Ministries! 🙌 This much-needed new space will give us a safe, dry place to store our hay, shavings, and now our carriage equipment, too!

But before the new shed can go up, the old one has to come DOWN! 💪🔨

A little overdue… but camp season has kept us busy! 😅 We’re finally getting around to sharing highlights from our first week of Horseback Riding Enrichment Camp.

What a blessing it was to spend the week with these amazing campers! We watched them grow in confidence as they learned to ride, care for their horses, encourage one another, and begin each day in God’s Word. It was a joy to see them step outside their comfort zones and be reminded that with Christ, all things are possible.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the love of Christ through horses and to watch these children grow in both confidence and character. Thank you to everyone who helps make this ministry possible—we’re excited to see what the rest of the summer holds! 🤍🐴
