We had such a great time having Reo with us for a whole week! Lou-Lou had a great time running around with both her mom and dad! Jackie and Reo also had many opportunities for some, uh, "alone time." LOL. I feel very confident that these matings will be successful this time! Based on the dates of mating we are anticipating puppies to be born on or around Christmas Day! That would put going home times around Mid-February! We are so excited to raise another litter of puppies! It was sad to say goodbye to Reo, but we're so greatful to have been able to have him stay with us! We loved the opportunity to get to know him more! At 9 years old he still has good looks and lots of Labrador energy! He was running around with Lou-Lou like he was a young pup too! We will update more as things progress!

We are excited to share that Jackie is currently in heat! We appreciate that Mike with Southern Jamm Retrievers let us borrow Reo again! We brought Reo to Jackie because she seemed a bit stressed going to his place last time. Today Jackie and Reo have been having a great time running around and getting reacquainted! It was also really fun having Lou-Lou meet her Dad for the first time! They hit it off great! I even managed to get a few decent family photos with a little bribery with treats! We are hoping this pairing will be successful this time! If all goes well we anticipate puppies to be born around Christmas time! Puppies would then be able to go to homes around Mid-February! I will post updates as things progress!

Happy 1st Birthday to Jackie and Reo's puppies! They turned one on the 4th! Miss Lou-Lou that we kept has grown into a beautiful, petite girl! At a year old she is on the very small end of the Labrador breed! She currently weighs just 45lbs! I love her dark color and small size! I'm excited to see future puppies from her when she's ready later next year!

Hello all! I am looking for help with fostering a sweet pair of Labradors for now with a potential to adopt them. These two Labradors came from our first ever litter! They have lived 3 wonderful years with their family. However in that time the allergies for their kids have become worse and are causing health issues. The family is of course heartbroken over the idea of having to give their beloved dogs up. I have been in touch with them trying to find the best solution possible. The family is seeking to temporarily rehome them to see if their kids' health improves with the dogs out of the home. If the kids improve then they realize they would need to permanently give up the dogs. If there is no improvement to the kids health then they would know it isn't the dogs, but something else causing the health issues. The kids did allergy testing and they are confirmed allergic to dogs. However they are wondering if the dogs are solely responsible for their health and respiratory issues or if more is at play. The best way for them to know is to have the dogs temporarily out of the home.

All that said I want to put feelers out to see if anyone would be willing to take these dogs into their home for a few weeks! These are very friendly dogs that live with a great family and are used to kids! They have not been around cats though so it is unknown how they would do around cats. Skye the female is spayed, but Hunter the male is not neutered, but could be if need be! Let me know if fostering these two is something you could help with! Thank you all!

Also curious if anyone else has experienced a dog allergy and found ways to make it work! Let me know!

Happy Father's Day to Mr. Cody! He's enjoying another lazy day and enjoying his favorite activity of keeping watch over our property by lounging in the driveway! We love our Cody and the great puppies he has produced in his life!

We are incredibly grateful for everyone that has reached out and would like to get a puppy from us! Unfortunately, the mating we had with Jackie and Reo didn’t take, and we are not anticipating puppies anymore this spring. We will try again for a litter of puppies on Jackie’s next heat cycle. It is hard to predict with certainty when that will be but based on averages, we guess her next heat will be in the fall sometime. If you would like to be on our waitlist for potential puppies this fall, we can add your name, phone number and what gender of puppy you are looking for! We will then reach out to those on our list when we have a mating to update the time of when we anticipate puppies to be born and going home times. We never charge a deposit just to be on our waitlist! We always want people to have the flexibility of finding the right puppy at the right time! Our waitlist is just a way to be notified about upcoming litters and gives preference to placing a deposit once a litter is born. Once puppies are born, we will reach out to those on our waitlist in the order of when they were added and then move forward with taking deposits on the puppy of their choice! If there are puppies still available after that I will post them on the website here!

This is good information to know when looking for a healthy new puppy companion! Genetics are still an evolving science, but by screening breeding parents for known problems in the breed helps to set a good foundation for a healthy dog!

Did you know? Dogs must be 24 months or older for OFA Hip and Elbow certification, and 12 months or older for Cardiac, Patellas, and Thyroid certification. There is no age minimum for eye certification, nor for DNA, since DNA does not change as the dog ages.

The OFA also does Preliminary evaluations on hips and elbows before 24 months of age. However, they will need to be re-evaluated again for a final certification once the dog reaches 24 months.

Individual breeds may have different minimum age requirements for their CHIC program, which is determined by their parent club.
