This is Bo he’s been a regular for many many years… he’s also boarded a lot with us over the last 5 years. We absolutely adore him!
And while I have your attention……
As I have said before, humans lie,
they can be fake, dogs do not have that capability.
They will let you know exactly how they were treated!
It’s not by chance I have been in this industry for 9 years.
I do it because it’s where my heart is.
Everytime I groom a dog, I talk to them,
I even sing to them,
yesterday I even cut the clippers off,
set them down and just held the dog,
it was a first time customer named Rosie and I just knew/felt like she needed a little more TLC so I picked her up and held her loved on her and told her aunt Barbie’s got her (that’s me🥰)
and she doesn’t have to be scared.
After that she went crazy, licking me, wagging her tail, just so excited! lol
It’s not about grooming them and sending them out the door.
It’s about making that connection with them,
I bond with them. They trust me.
That’s what’s important to me.
Everytime I get to groom a dog that’s one less dog I don’t have to worry about getting mistreated. 
Let me be super honest with yall.
Grooming is not easy.
And I don’t even mean the hair cutting part,
it’s them moving, constantly trying to lay down, doesn’t want their feet even touched! lol
and yes some of them BITE.
Wich I get ALOT of those because petco doesn’t muzzle so I tell them to send me all their aggressive dogs.
Remember an “aggressive” dog is just a scared dog! And they need grooming too!
One of my all time favorite things is taking a “mean” dog, grooming it and being able to hold it and it licking me in the face before they leave.
As I said before, dogs can pick up on things humans can’t.
As a groomer you have to have lots and lots of patience.
When you run out of that patience, you have to have MORE!
Just know when little Sophie gets dropped off with me, we are jammin, we are worshiping the Lord, we are having what I call a “doggie minute”
When they need a break, I give them a doggie minute.
They can feel my love and they feel safe, therefore there whole persona changes.
I was grooming an old dog last week and thought to myself I probably won’t ever see him again and I started crying and telling him what a great great dog he was and I held him…
But what an honor!
It was ME. I got to do that.
If someone else were to groom him, would they have been as sweet and loving to him as I was?
Every single dog that walks through that door is another dog I just saved, that’s how I look at it.
And I’m not saying all groomers are like that!
I’m sure there’s one or two out there like me who GENUINELY love animals!
With all that being said, just know sometimes it’s not about the bells and whistles,
do I have the prettiest facility like some of the other groomers, NO.
You know why?
My stuff ain’t new honey!
My stuff is USED.
I been doing this a long long time.
Ya girl needs to throw a little paint on the walls and spruce the place up, but let’s be honest I just don’t have the time for that right now but I do plan on remodeling before thanksgiving.
I’m REAL.
I like to stay real with my customers.
I did all that fake stuff when I first opened but learned real quick that’s not me.
& customers appreciate honestly!
For some people maybe too real and that’s okay,
just know there’s no one who will treat YOUR DOG better than I will, and anyone who knows me will tell you that 🥰
