Cackleberry Farms needs YOU!
We are a 100% USDA certified organic, small, family-owned, micro-mini farm that specializes in produce that is never sprayed and tended to with care. Currently, we sell our produce to both Boise Co-op locations as well as some local restaurants. We are looking to constantly grow and improve. In order to do that, we are in need of some additional help.
We pride ourselves on creating a team environment so prefer people who are energetic, self-starters, independent workers, reliable, dependable and willing to get their hands dirty!
Training will be provided until workers feel confident in the task at hand. Some of the many tasks on our farm include:
Harvesting:
Spring leaf lettuce
Baby leaf spinach
Romaine heads
Radishes
Weeding:
In beds, between beds and around plants
Produce prep and packaging
Washing and drying of green leaf veggies
Spraying off root veggies (carrots, radishes) and bunching them
General farm maintenance
Sweeping
General clean up
Odd jobs as needed
We do everything pretty much by hand or with hand tools, so heavy machinery knowledge is not required. Training will be provided for all tasks until a level of competency is achieved. Please note that much of the harvesting does involve bending over and up and down so some level of flexibility, fitness and/or endurance is MUST. Also, be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
We are looking for part-time help. We typically schedule in 4-hour blocks and can usually offer some flexibility.
If you’d enjoy getting in on a fun opportunity to be outside in the fresh air and help provide your community with some of the freshest, nutrient dense produce around, we’d love to see you join the Cackleberry Farm Team.
