We had to say goodbye to our beloved barn cat, Morty. He was a favorite among our students and brought so much warmth and personality to the barn. From sleeping on the bench to dropping off his “little presents” in the tack room, Morty always made us smile.

Thank you to everyone who loved him and helped give him such a happy, comfortable life. Run free, sweet Morty — you’ll always be part of our barn family. ❤️🌈

A few weeks late but we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped with our Fall Cleanup Day at the barn! 🧹🐴

We are incredibly grateful for all the hard work, time, and positive energy you brought—pulling weeds, staining, organizing, fixing, hauling, and everything in between. Because of your help, the barn is looking fresh, clean, and ready for the season ahead. 🙌

It’s always amazing to see what can be accomplished when our barn family comes together. We truly couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.

We still have a few spots left for our Short Boots Classes.. These classes are for ages 7 and up on lead-line in a group developing feel and balance on various horses and ponies.
Seasonal: April-October.

Thank you to all the volunteers that came out this past Saturday to help with our spring cleanup day! You all put in a lot of hard work in less than ideal weather. We finished so many projects that we wouldn't have been able to get done without the extra help. It was so fun to have us all at Kaizen working together.
We appreciate the time you gave us and the work you did so much!

Kaizen's sweet (yet spicy) Lacy had to be put down at the end of December. She had been with us for over 20 years and taught many of our students the basics of riding (and staying on). If you have a fond memory and/or photo to share of Lacy, post it in the comments.

Some photos from our event at the end of August to close out the summer for our Pony clubbers. They got to do dressage, show jumping, and cross country. As well as try some vaulting and polocrosse.

We had to say goodbye to Ruby this past Wednesday. After being stiff in her hind legs and progressing all the way to barely being able to use them, a trip to the vet and some xrays revealed that she had sever arthritis in her neck that was affecting her nerves. The vet determined that it wouldn't be safe for us to bring her back to Kaizen and suggested we put her to rest.
We'll miss getting to see her perk up when seeing a jump and how easy she made cantering look.

Our sweet Sonny had to be laid to rest on Saturday. His friendly personality was loved by our students and he will be greatly missed. It's always so hard to lose one of our sweet friends.

Because of this loss we are in the process of looking for another big boy (or girl) to add to our herd. If you know of anyone looking to rehome a larger horse let us know.

It is always sad, painful times, these seasons of goodbyes. But these times are also times of gratitude for the gifts of friendship, love, life lessons, partnership and more. As Kaizen says "Goodbye " to Canyon, also previously known as Pauli, it is with hearts filled with gratitude for the gifts he gave our students. He always wanted to do right. Always tried. Did more than we expected in his short exposure to jumping. The pain from his head shaking syndrome overcame his ability to carry riders safely. His discomfort was evident even in his turnout times.
Horses are never really ours, they are borrowed and at some point we need to let them go. Canyon you are missed.
