Dad’s BIG day…

Midge season creeping you out?

Midges, tiny non-biting flies, they are currently swarming around Lake Erie and Northeast Ohio, especially in areas near the lake, sign of a clean lake, and/or wet climate. They emerge from the lake when water temperatures reach around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Midge season typically peaks in late May and early June, but they can be present throughout the summer and into the fall.
Get your self a bat house from the “Backyard Feeding Station”. One bat eats up to 3000 midges per night. A single-chamber bat house can accommodate around 50 bats, while a larger, multi-chamber house can attract colonies of 200 or more. Some bat houses may hold up to 250 bats. That’s some serious bug busters!
