This little guy is a pretty good reason to not put your gardening tools away!

I have shovels littered around the property specifically for rattlesnakes. This little guy decided it would be a good idea to say hello during my night check, but probably didn't think I'd have a handy dandy relocating shovel close by.

He got scooped up and taken off property, and I got a sidelong glance from neighbors as I walked down the street with a flashlight and a shovel at 2:30 am as they drove by.

Even though the temps have dropped, these critters can still be out and about. They may not be out to get you, but they won't think twice about protecting themselves.

These two went to their first off-property adventure today, and had their first show!

Both of these fillies did amazing, and I'm so proud of them!

Phoenix is such a sweet guy!

He came in with a few problems, one of which being bolting as soon as he was overwhelmed. And, when I say bolting, I mean "rip the lead rope out of your hands and go" bolt.

We've been working with him to learn how to handle his emotions better, and wouldn't you know, he ended up having a real sweet personality under all that bottled up fear.

Phoenix is still a little worried about things, but he'd MUCH rather think through it before it becomes a problem these days. He's a sweet goofy boy, and he's going to make someone an AMAZING horse.

Phoenix is available through All Things Hooved Animal Rescue, who gave this smart fella SO much hope he hadn't had before!

Just a quick video that's been WAY overdue! Flicka is going to make someone very happy! She's got a lot of try and willingness, and to see how far she's come is absolutely amazing. She's still working on a few trust hurdles, but she's leaps and bounds from where she was when we met her.

Our last addition of the year is here!

She's had a few days to decompress after her trip down from northern California, and she's already blowing our minds.

We had the tarp set up for some other horses, but she seemed too interested to not give it a try! I think it's safe to say she doesn't mind it.

We're still waiting for her name to he official, so keep your eyes open for that announcement!

Here's another look at Flicka (just because she deserves the brag)!

I cannot believe this horse came in as a super reactive, scared to death little ball of nerves. She was extremely skinny and has been working on gaining weight as well as learning to trust! She's still got a little ways to go in both fields, but I think she's coming along amazingly. It'd be difficult to tell she's the same horse that came in if I hadn't seen the transformation with my own eyes!

Flicka is one of the many horses that All Things Hooved Animal Rescue has helped, and we're so glad to be able to help this sweet mare on her way to find her new forever people.

Flicka is such a sweet girl. She came in absolutely petrified, but she's proving that she really wanted to be a good girl all along.

This horse has no reason to trust humans, but here she is doing her dangdest. She went from not being able to be handled without having a meltdown to working at being a very good girl! First time with a ba****ck pad? Psh, no problem!

All Things Hooved Animal Rescue has an amazing girl for adoption right here, and she's going to make someone's ride-or-die once she gets to know them!
