Here at Pawsitive we are a LUXURY grooming Spaw and Salon focused on each pet’s complete wellness by providing “as-long-as-it-takes” service to each pet. Every part of each service is done thoughtfully providing the least stressful experience possible. With a background as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Service and Therapy Dog Trainer, but also a Cosmetologist background and license trained at a Paul Mitchell School, I have put together all my training, experience and expertise in these fields to provide a grooming experience for pets unlike any other salon in the area.
I will never hold down or man handle a pet to get a service done. I will never rush a service on any pet as that is the number one reason pets get traumatized, injured or even killed at grooming salons. With my background as a trainer I know there are always several ways to reach the same goal, so if a pet doesn’t like one method I try another until I find one that works best for that particular animal. If a pet needs a break they get a break, I also have several natural sprays and essential oils which I can put on a towel near them to help them relax and be less stressed.
Over the past 5+ years of working for myself I have 100% 5 star reviews, I have several clients who were kicked out of other salons for aggression of difficulty that I can now groom without issue. I’ve also learned over the years which shampoos, conditioners and other products are the safest and least likely to cause irritation to pets.
I only take a few pets per day so I can spend as much time as necessary on every pet and treat each pet as I would treat my own.
DID YOU KNOW?- There is no class, certification, test or anything of the sort required to be a groomer? That means ANYONE can buy clippers and say they’re a groomer with absolutely no experience whatsoever. It’s scary because grooming is working with VERY sharp tools on a moving target. Most people don’t understand how easy it is to accidentally cut a pet if they don’t have the proper knowledge and experience, especially if that pet is matted.
My goal when creating this business was to create, most importantly, the safest place to take your dog or cat to get groomed. To give pet owners the piece of mind knowing their pet will be treated with the utmost care and that I will do everything I can to not only provide a great service but more importantly to not have any pet leave scared or traumatized. My goal is to have them keep coming back and not be scared when they see me! Of course, some pets won’t ever enjoy being groomed but as long as they’re not scared, traumatized, shaking etc. that’s the goal!
If you want a fast and/or cheap service I’m not going to be the right fit for you, but if you want the piece of mind knowing your pet is safe and being cared for and treated how you would treat them yourself then you’ve found the right fit!
I groom dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. I do take difficult pets! If I’m unable to complete any part of the service or the service itself without having to traumatize the pet or feel the pet could get injured if I proceed then I simply don’t proceed. That has only happened twice in the past 5+ years though!
I also do Doggie Dentals! It’s tartar removal with the use of dental tools. I do NOT use anesthesia, sedatives or medications of any kind whatsoever! Surprisingly most dogs tend to actually let me do this easier than regular maintenance toothbrushing!
