I walked these incredible sister-dogs! Their names are Chance and Gabby; they are hoping to find a loving home, adoptable at Mendocino Coast Humane Society, 707-964-7729 x0.
They both are so well-mannered and cheerful! They love taking walks in beautiful places and seem to enjoy life so much when they grin ear-to-ear. They love treats and human cuddles. In the car, they immediately lay down and dozed off, they were so happy and trusting and ready to go on a ride with a new human friend.
Gabby is a 10-year-old Shepard mix and is such a good girl, so docile and gentle. She loves treats and sniffing around outside. She is so calm around other dogs passing by, even when they bark and lunge at her, she seems completely calm, cool and collected, disinterested in conflict and curious about what's next on the walk. She takes treats so gently and softly. Her floppy ears make her such a photogenic pup!
Chance is a sweet-natured and fun-loving, fluffy black Belgian-Sheepdog mix with so much joy in her heart! She is 8 years old. She certainly is a few notches more energetic than Gabby, and gets extra excited to play with a tennis ball. She's so excited to please, especially at the prospect of a treat, and she is so happy to meet new people!
Chance and Gabby love walking, and doing everything, together! - and they often nuzzle each other while walking to check in.
Both these sweet dogs were so quiet! They were both unbothered and uninterested in responding to other dogs being loud and aggressive while out for walks. They love each other so much and get nervous when they are separated for too long. Neither of them pull too hard on the leash, even around cats, squirrels or loud barking dogs. They certainly deserve to be adopted together! Sadly their previous owner passed away; they've been waiting at the shelter since early October for their furever home. Do you know someone who's ready for these loving dogs to bring them joy??
In addition to one of my favorite pastimes, as Steve Aviv’s Mendocino House/Pet Sitting Service (fully insured, now booking for the holiday season, up through mid-2024!), in my free time I enjoy going to the shelter to walk the dogs and hang out in the cat cottage (which is amazing, btw).
Anyone can hang out with the animals, give them walks, and support this amazing shelter.
Feel free to walk in any day 12 - 5pm (besides Monday). In their "Borrow A Buddy" program, you can take a pup-friend for a short walk, or a longer adventure for the day. They even let you take a backpack full of free supplies and treats if you decide to take them on a longer adventure. Thankful for the Mendocino Coast Humane Society!
