💖 Meet Lefty 💖

Lefty is a gentle, shy girl who joined a small playgroup today. She was a little timid but so sweet — letting other dogs greet her and quietly keeping to herself. 🐶✨

She’s also recovering from a leg injury and needs a rescue to continue her medical care. That means she can only go to a foster home through a rescue partner 🐾.

🐾 It’s National Dog Day — Help Us Reach Our Goal! 🐾

At Memphis Animal Services, Kongs aren’t just toys — they’re an important part of our daily routine. Every day, hundreds of dogs get stuffed Kongs to keep them calm, happy, and mentally engaged while they wait for homes.

This National Dog Day, we’re setting a big goal: 500 Kongs donated for the pups in our care!

🦴 You can pick them up at any local pet store or order them from places like Amazon. Any size helps, but Large and XL are especially useful for our bigger dogs.

Every Kong donated = one more dog having a better day at the shelter.

🐾 Foster Needed for Rocco ! 🐾

We have a rescue ready to help Rocco—but we need a foster commitment by 7am to make it possible!

Rocco is the whole package: he’s good with kids, dogs, and even cats. He also attended playgroup and showed he’s social and curious, though he’s still learning his manners and would benefit from guidance in a foster home.

This sweet boy just needs a safe place to land so he can take his next step toward a forever home.

💖 Meet Pirene ( ), lovingly called “Daisy” by her foster family!

Daisy is the best of both worlds—full of playful energy and always ready for snuggles. She loves kids, gets along with dogs and cats, and would be happiest in a home with another pup or a family who enjoys playtime. 🎾

She’s still learning about the leash, but she’s smart, sweet, and ready to keep blossoming in her forever home. 🌸

🌸 Meet Isis 🌸

Isis is such a dainty little lady! Today she met another dog and, while she was a little tense at first, she showed us she has a soft and gentle playstyle. She’s easy to leash, walks beautifully outside, and seems to really prefer spending her time with people over pups. 🥰

We love how she loosened up once she felt comfortable—she even gave the sweetest “polite corrections” when needed. 💕 Check out her video to see her in action!

Meet Chaos a.k.a. Betty Lu, or "Lulu" — MAS ID: MAS-A-48021 — a sweet, playful pup currently in foster care and looking for her forever home! 💕

Her foster family says Lulu is full of love and has gotten along wonderfully with dogs, cats, men, women, and especially children. She’s taken a special liking to their 2.5-year-old son and loves snuggling up with him at nap time. 🥹💤

She’s a medium-energy pup — equal parts zoomies and couch cuddles — and is learning commands like “sit” and “stay.” She hasn’t met anything she’s afraid of and wants to be everyone’s friend.

WENDY ( ) – Puppy Playfulness Meets Sweet Sensitivity At just 9 months old, Wendy is the perfect mix of playful pup and affectionate companion. She’s housetrained, knows “get in your house,” and is working on her leash skills. Wendy thrives around other dogs—she’s absolutely smitten with her foster’s 80-pound Pit and gets along beautifully with the whole pack.

She’s a little shy at first and prefers to approach humans on her own terms, but once she’s comfortable, she’ll come right over for pets and cuddles. Wendy would do best in a home with another dog to keep her company and help her continue building confidence.
