🐾💛 July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month! 💛🐾

No one ever expects their pet to go missing, but it can happen in just a matter of seconds.

Take a few minutes this month to make sure your pet is protected:

🏷️ Make sure their ID tags are easy to read and up to date.
📱 Verify your microchip registration has your current phone number and address.
📸 Keep recent photos of your pet on your phone.
🚪 Double-check gates and fences for any loose areas
🎆 Remember that fireworks and summer storms can cause even the calmest pets to panic and run.

📍 Memphis pet parents: Did you know microchipping is required by city ordinance? If your pet isn't chipped yet, Memphis Animal Services offers microchips (including registration) for just $5. No appointment needed!

Already have a microchip? Great! At your pet's next veterinary visit, ask your vet to scan the chip to make sure it's still in place and working properly. It's also the perfect time to confirm your registration has your current phone number and address. A microchip only helps if the information attached to it is up to date!
