Harley ❤️

I recently had the privilege to photograph this big sweet boy, who is getting up there in the years. I had previously groomed him a couple weeks back and wanted to give his pet parents a lasting memory.

I’m looking forward to having a grand opening for the new salon soon, which will also offer a pet portrait studio. If you’re interested in getting professional photos of your pet, let me know!

It’s official! I’m mobile!

One year after launching Dog On The Run Grooming, I now provide mobile services for all of my clients. As a Fear Free certified groomer, having a safe, stress free, and clean environment is essential to giving your pets the best care possible.

Very soon we will also be opening a fixed location salon to offer additional services for new clients. If you’re waiting to get on our schedule, watch for our grand opening!

A HUGE Thank You to all of my current clients who have made this possible. You are the reason I am here. Give your pups some love for me and I’ll see you soon!

Molly wins the award for “Most Excited to See Me”!

Every time she gets groomed, we spend about five minutes playing before and after, and plenty of treats during. Though she has a tiny bit of anxiety while being groomed, she knows the reward is going to be worth it! I always take the extra time and effort to make it a positive experience for her, and every dog. I love happy dogs!

Summertime Shedding

To help double coated dogs regulate their body temperature during the summer heat, one of the best things that can be done is to give them a proper deshed treatment, and not a haircut. Cutting the hair can permanently damage how their coat grows!

I never recommend giving a short haircut to a double coated dog, such as a husky. The long, thicker guard hairs actually do more to protect the dog from the sun's ultraviolet light and weather conditions. It's the thick, fluffy undercoat hair that insulates the dog. By properly deshedding and removing the dead or loose undercoat hair that may be trapped, a dog is then better able to regulate their core temperature.

Besides periodic grooming, a double coated dog requires regular brushing to help maintain a clean shiny coat that protects them from both the cold AND the heat.

The gentlest touch

I adore my senior dogs. They deserve the best care we can give, and require just a little extra time and attention to live their best lives.

As a groomer, and a pet parent, I became certified for Senior Pet Care in order to continue learning all the little things I could do to provide extra care. One thing I’ve learned on my own is to avoid metal and use softer combs and tools. If you’ve ever used a metal comb on yourself, you know they can hurt. I use only carbon and plastic combs for all my dogs, because they just feel better!

Get in touch with me if you’re looking for the best care for your pets!

I will be mobile in 330 days!
