Even if you have nontoxic plants, pests are still likely to get into them. Here are some ways to help you keep your pets away from your plants. Even if you are successful in keeping your plants out of your pet’s mouth, it is still advised to only keep nontoxic plants in the home.
🪴One way to keep your plants safe from curious pets is to enclose them in a terrarium.
🪴 Plant specific room, with no pets allowed
Some times people have rooms dedicated to pets, if you have room, the same can be done with plants.
🪴 Secure your plant pots to the wall
Make sure to use screws or anchors that are appropriate for the type of wall you have, and be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
🚫Things you should not do
While it may seem logical to put your plants up high to keep them out of reach of pets, this can actually be dangerous. If you put your plants on a high shelf or hanging from the ceiling, you run the risk of cats or other pets trying to climb or jump to get to them.
Overall, it’s generally better to find a safer, more stable location for your plants, whether that’s on a lower shelf or table, in a terrarium, or secured to the wall. This will help to keep both your plants and your pets safe and healthy.
