Their contributions will bring fresh life and vibrant color to the Frayser Urban Garden this season.

This Saturday 4/26 from 12-3pm is our official Spring Fling. Join us for a day of learning & growing. Today, the Frayser Food Forest Project went from a dream to a reality! With the incredible support of the 38127 community and our dedicated partners, we planted over 20 native Memphis trees, enriching the Frayser neighborhood and showcasing the power of true community spirit. 💚

The Frayser Community Urban Garden, established in 2021, is a collaborative effort by the UTHSC College of Medicine - Office of Community Health Engagement (OCHE), UTHSC Board of Visitors Advisory Council, UT Extension Institute of Agriculture, the residents of Frayser, the City of Memphis, and Memphis Parks. 🌾 Its primary goal is to provide Frayser community residents with access to free, healthy, locally grown produce to support healthy lifestyles. 🥬🍅

This tree planting event is brought to you in collaboration with the Frayser Urban Garden, Memphis Meeting Friends (Quakers), The Works Tree Initiative , Lifeline 2 Success, Memphis Parks , and Memphis City Beautiful . Together, we’re growing a brighter, greener future for our community. 💚

The Frayser Urban Garden proudly donated proceeds from the 4th Annual Greens Cook-Off to Girls Inc. of Memphis ! This contribution is a major step toward empowering young women and supporting the future of our city wide communities!

We also honored Dr. Altha Stewart, UTHSC with the Peach Tree Trophy for her unwavering dedication and support since the garden’s inception. Her commitment has been vital in our mission to ensure Frayser residents have access to locally grown, nutritious foods that promote healthier lifestyles. As she would say, We’re changing the narrative!

This success is a collaboration between Frayser Garden Council, Frayser residents, Legacy of Legends, the City of Memphis, the University of Tennessee Extension Institute, UTHSC College of Medicine, and its Board of Visitors. Together, we’re sowing seeds of change!

Cherished Thanksgiving Tradition at the Greens Cook-Off! Our 2nd time judge, Craig Littles of talks about his favorite memory of him eating his grandma’s delicious Greens every Thanksgiving. This is his second year participating in the Greens Cook-Off, and we’re excited to have him be part of this growing event.
