We lost a highly anticipated litter today. Really disappointong but she was a first time mom that didnt know what to do so hopefully she'll get it next time 🤞 We did, however, get a beautiful litter of silver fox/Californian from an experienced mama. I believe I counted 7 with a quick check 🥰

What's that? I've been in pre labor since Saturday morning and there are trees falling down around us? I have easily accessible hay of my own already? Why, sure I'll folow you through 20 inches of snow and branches to eat at the haybale 😃🙄🤦‍♀️

I think most very pregnant creatures enjoy a good neck rub. Poor girl is over it, I think everyone is waiting to see babies ❤️ How many does everyone think she'll have?

If anyone has considered doing sprouts for their critters, here's your sign to try it! These are oat sprouts at approximately 7 days. Some people let them grow in the jar, some put them in a tray after they start to grow. I will personally be trying them in some foam and plastic egg cartons, after they start to grow in the jar, for perfect little rabbit servings after I struggled to get them out of the jar 😅. The chickens, ducks, and the sample a few goats and rabbits got absolutely loved them!

Materials
*Glass jars or a bucket/container for soaking
*Jar rings/lids
*Some people use wire strainers for their lids. I decided to go with plastic cross stitching canvas because it's cheap, easy to cut, and won't rust.
*dry seed/beans (ex. Lentils, beans, whole feed oats, black oil sunflower seed, etc)
*trays, optional

Process
*rinse and soak your seed of choice, or a mixture, for approximately 24 hours
*rinse and drain completely, daily. Either in your jar/bucket or once they start growing spread into a tray of your choice (some may need 2x/day) for about a week. Grow how ever long you feel though, depends on how you want to feed them, and you've got an easy sprout!
