🌟 Exciting news from Melrose Animal Clinic! 🌟 Our Medical Director, Dr. Gaura Shah, has been selected to serve on the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) — a national organization that provides expert guidance on protecting pets and people from parasites.

This exciting opportunity comes thanks to a nomination by Dr. Kathryn Sarpong. Here in New England, Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses are a growing concern. What many people don’t realize is that tick-borne disease in pets often predicts risk for people too. By monitoring illness in our dogs, we can better understand and reduce exposure for the whole family. 🐶➡️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🗺️

Stay informed with the CAPC Parasite Forecast Map https://capcvet.org/maps/ #2025/all/lyme-disease/dog/united-states/massachusetts/ - which tracks regional trends in Lyme and other diseases. We’re proud to be part of this important work — protecting our patients and community through prevention, education, and science-based care.
