Yesterday was a difficult day for all of us at the rescue. We received a call about a horse in trouble. We wasted no time in getting our things together and rushing to help. What we found was truly heartbreaking. A horse, hurt bad and alone in a very remote area. We struggled to get to her and tried to get her loaded in the trailer to no avail. She was in too much pain. After giving her some banamine and comforting her while she rested, she was able to get up again and gave us everything she had to jump into the trailer. There were numerous people on hand to guide us out and we were able to get her to the amazing people at Idaho Equine. They rushed to action but xrays revealed that this beautiful creature was left to suffer all night with a fractured shoulder and a broken leg. There were tears and broken hearts as she was released from her pain and set free to soar above the clouds. I am so proud of our angels - Kelsie, Jessica, and Jena for springing to action and giving everything to try and save this precious girl. I love you guys and I feel such a sense of loss for this girl, but also such pride knowing her send off was filled with all the love we could possibly give. R.I.P beautiful ❤️
