It starts with fresh chicken, delivered to the plant and cooked the same day, then gently cooked at low temperature, for hours, instead of extruded in seconds like kibble. That's what gives it a different look, texture, and bite.

What happens when you put dog food in water?

We tried it with Bil-Jac and a piece of traditional extruded kibble. About 30 minutes later, Bil-Jac had broken down into fine particles while the kibble was still largely intact.

Why does that matter? Absorption requires breakdown.

Bil-Jac is gently cooked at about 215°F, rather than extruded at 400–500°F. It’s a difference you can actually see.
