Sheely Show Horses believes in pairing potential with purpose to get the most out of every horse. It is owned and operated by head trainer Courtney Sheely. Courtney began showing horses at a young age. Starting out with showing dressage and 4-H, she then graduated to the pinto circuit. She had great success as she moved up through the Ohio Pinto circuit, winning high point 13 & under division cham
pion. Courtney spent the majority of her 14-18 youth career successfully competing on the OQHA circuit. Her last youth year, she switched disciplines yet again, pursuing what she had always been passionate about — reining. She started riding reiners with Brandon Brant of Brant Performance Horses and was hooked. She continued her equine education as well as her formal education, double majoring in both Western Equestrian Studies and English with a creative writing emphasis at the University of Findlay. Courtney has shown and won several NRHA competitions and qualified for the NRHA affiliate finals in OKC in the Novice Horse Non Pro class during the 2014 season on Smart Chics Fly Solo. She was, however, unable to attend the show due to acedemic obligations. At the 2016 NRHA Derby, Courtney won the Novice Horse Non Pro class on a 4 year old mare named Mizzen My Wranglers who she had started and trained herself at UF the year prior.
