As a reminder to all of our customers, we post a "Holiday Heads Up" in advance of every holiday that we are closed, along with putting up signs/notices on our door and hours sign located to the left of the front door.

If you are unsure if we will be closed on an upcoming holiday and cannot find a holiday heads up post, please call the store during our listed business hours and a staff member can let you know if we will be closed or not.

As a general rule of thumb, we are closed on most major holidays (Christmas Day, Easter, Memorial Day... etc), but will typically only be closed on the day of the holiday itself before resuming our regular schedule.

This is our final check in before we decide if we're ordering chicks this month!

We have seen some interest in us getting Easter Eggers for the shop (we are only doing a single breed this go around if we place the order), and are required by the hatchery to place a minimum order of at least 15-20 chicks.

It's later in the season for ordering them, so we are unlikely to do a larger batch if we do order them to avoid having too many leftover.

Again, if we do order them, we will only be getting the Easter Egger variety, as we are unable to mix and match breeds outside of getting a variety, and then there is no guarantee on how many of each will be in group we are sent.

Thank you to everyone who came by the booth during Walk 4 Paws this weekend, and helping to make it a successful day out supporting a good cause!

All of us here at the shop are happy to support our local animal shelters when we can, because not only do they save the lives of countless animals, but without them, we wouldn't have our silly girl, Juniper, who makes our days that much more interesting.

April showers bring May flowers, but a little rain isn't going to stop the Tate's crew from showing up for a good cause!

The team is happy to be coming out in support of Walk 4 Paws and the Brandywine Valley SPCA today at West Goshen Community Park in West Chester, and hope that a bit of cloudy weather doesn't discourage others from doing the same.

Although we already sold out of our chicks back in March, we are considering doing another batch next month (May), but we want to know how many people would be interested in buying them then before we commit to a new batch of babies.

We are likely going to go for a single breed this time rather than a mix, with us currently leaning towards one of the colored egg layers such as the Americana or Easter Egger.

If you're interested in either of these breeds, let us know in the comments, and help us decide how many to get!

(Please Note: The hatchery requires us to purchase a minimum of 15 birds at a time, so anything less than that and we cannot place the order.)
