💔 WE ARE FAILING TEX. AND IT’S BREAKING OUR HEARTS. 💔
We honestly don’t even know what else to say. We are heartbroken, frustrated, and so incredibly sad for this boy.
Meet Tex. He’s just 1.5 years old, approximately 70 pounds, and quite possibly one of the sweetest, friendliest, fluffiest boys you’ll ever meet. He LOVES people, LOVES other dogs, and is even great with cats. He’s basically a giant teddy bear who thinks everyone deserves a bear hug. (For that reason, we recommend children 8 and older because Tex hasn’t quite mastered keeping all four paws on the ground when he’s excited.)
When we first introduced Tex, we were flooded with adoption applications. We thought, this is it! Surely one of these families is going to be his forever.
FOUR approved adopters met Tex. FOUR families decided he wasn’t the one.
He even went home with TWO approved adopters, only to be returned because he needs additional crate training.
We feel like we’ve let Tex down. We have advocated for him, shared him, reviewed applications, arranged meet-and-greets, and celebrated every time we thought he might finally be going home. And every time, he’s ended up right back where he started.
We cannot understand how a dog with so much love to give is still being overlooked.
And if you aren’t in a position to adopt, we are DESPERATELY looking for a foster who would be willing to open their home and help Tex work on his crate training. Sometimes all a dog needs is someone willing to give them a little extra time.
