From horses to cats, dogs, turtles, birds, chinchillas, hamsters, ferrets, and too many more to list, their well-being and care has been our focus. Seeing this devotion, friends and family would ask if we could help with their daily routine, vacation stays, or trips to the vet. Over time we came to realize that caring for these loving companions was what we loved to do, and so was born On the Spot!

⚠️Heat Wave Alert!⚠️

With the temperatures rising, please be aware that all dogs can easily overheat, in particular brachycephalic breeds as listed below!

Warning signs to look for:

🔹Excessive or loud panting
🔹Extreme thirst
🔹Thick saliva
🔹Vomiting
🔹Increased heart rate
🔹Bright red tongue & pale gums

To prevent your dog from over heating, walk your dog during the cooler hours (early morning or evening) & on soft ground rather than pavement to protect their paw pads.

It is also suggested that using frozen ice packs or frozen water to cool your dog down can have the opposite effect, therefore cool water is sufficient.

⚠️Remember⚠️ - dogs don't sweat like humans & have to pant & sweat through their paws to cool down making it much more difficult for them!
