A fellow Veteran friend offers 🐠FISHING ROD BUILDING CLASSES🐠 through Wisconsin Hero Outdoors. This is a class for 📌Veterans, First Responders, Fighterfighters, and Law Enforcement personnel.📌

🛑UPDATE: The five remaining slots have been so incredibly generously DONATED by our good business partner Brent, at Hunts Remembered Taxidermy in Wausau. Meaning, this would now be at no cost to you!🛑 We know he did this out of the goodness of his heart, but please go give him a, “like”and follow if you wouldn’t mind! THANK YOU, Brent!

No longer applicable : There is a $50 fee that would need to be paid at time of sign up. This covers the cost of some of the materials. The rest of the cost of each pole is donated by the organization.

There are two to three instructors that will be here, helping everyone walk through the rod building.

There are 5 slots left, but could possibly fit 3 more if there’s more interested. The slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis with payment and would I need the Veterans first and last name to claim a slot.

These classes are normally put on down towards Madison, but they have kindly agreed to put on a class at our shop, in Merrill.

The class date will be March 28th, 2026 from 8am to about 4pm. Lunch will be provided, on us. This will be at our Merrill location.

The rods will spin overnight and then would need to be picked up from our shop the following day, Sunday.

Good luck to all of our fellow Rifle Hunters!

You can see that the 2025/2026 season is in full swing! Pictured you will see the truck box on our way to deliver last week and what I brought back with me. During the 7 hour round trip I had; at least six people take a picture, a semi blow his horn, a 🤘, smiles, fist pumps, kids pounding on their car window at me, and more honks and waves than I can count. (In case your wondering an 8 ft. Box can fit 7 elk/red stag and about 140 skulls.) 🤣

-Medford continues to be a 24/7, self service access set up.

It’s crazy how fast the time goes from Dad saying, “pick up your damn feet when you walk through the woods,” to passing on the hunting traditions to their grandchildren.

Fun fact -

If you’re pulling into our Merrill location this year, you will notice our new sign at the end of our driveway along the road.

If you’ve had custom metal work done with any of our European mounts in the last couple years, the same business who made our sign, cut your metal! (We still continue to do all design work.)

Please check out Droptine Fabrication LLC for any custom metal work from fire rings, stair railings, custom signs, you name and you will be more than taken care of! Their dedication to customer service and quality is top notch.

***The 2025 Bow Season is here and we are in our 16TH SEASON here at Team Smackdown Outdoors!***

📌With this being the second year of running two locations, we wanted to post a few quick reminders and updates.📌

•Customers are still able to drop off and/or pick up at either location in Medford or Merrill.

-Medford contines to be self-service, 24/7 access
with limited in-person office hours during Rifle
season. (Address - N5002 Ballpark Dr.)

-Merrill is still our full time location. The address

•Medford 24/7 access : look for the lean too on the Shop and everything you need is there! On the freezer you will find drop off instructions and all needed supplies. This area will also be used for pick up.

•We have a required ONE week pick up window, after you have been notified your work is done. (Unless otherwise arranged.)

•We still continue to also do cerakote projects, hydrodipping, custom air brush work, and offering wood and metal plaque options. We love bringing all your unique visions to life!

To be operting at the capacity we are is humbling and rewarding and we have you all soley to thank for that. To think - what started as a young boys dream, has become our life, in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Sixteen years has us feeling old, in the best way possible. We truly enjoyed meeting so many new customers at our Merrill location, but also value our Medford customers we get to stay in touch with year after year!

As business owners, we are humbled every time we are able to help someone in their pursuits. (Pun intended - wait for it.)

We're excited to be the official sponsor of Blazin Pursuits! This passionate group of men are taking what they love to do - Hunting, and turning into their dreams. They film their hunts, talk about their hunts and all things hunting on their podcasts, outdoor photography, and lots more to come!

We don’t know everything but we do know two things. One - starting your own business from the ground up and keeping it successful takes every ounce of your being and is a different kind of hussle. We feel it’s our calling to be that positive encouragment and support to keep the ball rolling for our younger generations who have a drive for this ethic.
