So MD Animal Rescue

So MD Animal Rescue So MD Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit dog rescue and we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs. Most of our dogs come from shelters in GA.

We rescue shelter and stray dogs, provide vetting, and then network the dogs to find a loving family that is a good match for them. We rescue them, board them for quarantine and vet care, and then transport them to MD to stay at the rescue or with a foster family until they are adopted. If you are interested in a dog that you see posted we recommend that you complete an application as soon as you

If you apply and then change your mind you just need to send us a message to withdraw your application. Here is the link to our application. https://form.jotform.com/smar46/dog-adoption-application

Update: I posted this yesterday as a teaching tool. We did not anticipate this amount of engagement. We like to share information on here because so many people are several generations removed from farming/agriculture. We want you to understand and know where your food comes from and what goes in to its production. We never seek to criticize; only to teach. Please be kind to each other. We love all of you.

Parents this is a great learning opportunity for you and your children. A customer let their child pick all of these flowers. Each of these flowers would have been a strawberry. We anticipate some loss in the fields from plants getting trampled or pulled up. You can help us to minimize this loss by teaching your children to respect our plants/fields and property.

“He still lifted his paw… like he was asking someone not to leave him again.”

The old dog stood quietly in the corner of the shelter,
his cloudy eyes searching every person who walked past.

Slow steps.

Tired body.

But somehow…
he still tried to look hopeful.

The staff said he used to belong to an elderly man who loved him deeply.

But after his owner passed away,
there was no one left to take him in.

Since then,
he had been moved from place to place,
waiting for a home that never came.

One day,
a volunteer sat beside him and whispered,
“You don’t have to pretend to be strong anymore.”

And for the first time in weeks,
his little paw slowly reached out…
like he simply needed to feel loved again.

🐾💔

Some dogs don’t fear being old.

They fear being forgotten.

Be kind to souls who spent their whole life loving humans without conditions.

URGENT 3 DAY FOSTER NEEDED 5/22-24/26 or 5/29-31/26

We need a foster for our new Frenchie rescue Luna for one of the weekends listed below. We really prefer that she is fostered this weekend, but can wait a week if necessary.

Luna was rescued from Charles County Care Center. She was obviously used for breeding before ending up at the shelter. She is quite timid and shy but she loves attention. She is good with other dogs and cats. I don't foresee there being a problem with children. Her vaccines are up to date, but she has not been spayed yet.

If you would like to foster Luna for us, please fill out our foster application at https://form.jotform.com/smar46/dog-foster-application

Please pm us if you would like more information.

Hello everyone!

Due to some recent health challenges, I've fallen behind on providing updates for the rescue. This post is to let everyone know that we are still actively offering our rescue and adoption services. Please be advised, however, that our intake is limited to dogs 20lbs and under until further notice.

Over the upcoming days, I will be diligently working to catch up on posts regarding dogs who have found their homes, those currently available for adoption, and details about our upcoming adoption and fundraising events.

If you, or someone you know, is looking for a furry friend for the family, please keep checking our page for updates.

Thanks for visiting.
