This piece carries a story unlike anything else I’ve created.

At the center of this handcrafted arrangement is an authentic doe skull from a doe we personally found deceased the day after Mother’s Day. When she was found, she had gone into labor, but the fawn’s head was the only part she had been able to deliver.
She was a small doe, and the fawn appeared very large in comparison to her size. I do have the original photograph documenting exactly how she was found and the story behind this skull.

Finding her the day after Mother’s Day, under those circumstances, made the name for this piece almost inevitable:

I carefully cleaned and whitened her skull before giving her a permanent place within this one-of-a-kind autumn centerpiece. She is surrounded by warm oranges, dusty mauves, deep browns, sunflowers, berries, foliage and natural accents, all arranged by hand inside a natural woven rectangular centerpiece tray with decorative braided loop edging.

Two battery operated flickering pillar candles are included, casting a beautiful warm glow over the arrangement when illuminated.

From stinky buck… to statement piece. 🦌🌸

This buck may not have smelled the greatest when it arrived, but with a little patience, a lot of cleaning, and a creative vision, it found a whole new life as custom home décor.

If you’ve got an old mount, a European skull, or even a “stinky buck” sitting in the garage, don’t throw it away I can transform it into something you’ll actually want to display.

The transformation here is impressive, the difference between the before and after really highlights the amount of work that went into these.

Not every European mount starts out fresh.

These two arrived with the hide completely dried and bonded to the skull. What looks like a simple euro mount actually meant hours of extra work carefully removing the hide, preserving delicate bone, multiple rounds of degreasing, and whitening before they are ready for the wall.

This is why every skull is different. Some clean up quickly, while others take patience, experience, and a lot of extra time to bring back to life.

Here is where I don’t cut corners, I take the time to do it right.

A friendly reminder to all customers:

Once your mount is completed, please make arrangements to pick it up in a timely manner. As a small business, I have very limited storage space, and completed projects waiting for pickup can quickly take up room needed for current projects.

I understand that life happens and finances can get tight. If you need a little extra time, please communicate with me. I am happy to work with customers on payment arrangements when needed. The biggest thing is simply staying in contact.

I do my best to avoid charging storage fees and would prefer not to start doing so. Prompt payment and pickup help keep things running smoothly and allow me to continue providing quality service to everyone.

I’m a little late this year but, save us your turkey wings! For every pair turned in you will receive one chance in our drawing for box calls by Bill Semerod and wing bone calls from Big Sandy’s Custom Wing Bone Calls. Let us recycle those feathers into arrow fletch and the bones into calls!

Please cut the wings off the bird so all 3 wing bones are intact.
