I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking when specific breeds will be hatching, so here’s a general hatch timeline per breed. Please keep in mind this is my best estimate only — fertility, weather, and other factors can always change things.

NOTE: There is a good chance some of these winter eggs may not be fertilized. Even though temperatures have been warmer than normal, eggs can still freeze internally before we collect them. Cold weather also reduces how often roosters breed. Because of this, just because a breed is listed, and even if we get eggs to set, it does not guarantee chicks will hatch.

GREAT NEWS!! SEXLINKED OLIVE EGGERS ARE BACK!!

I was lucky enough to purchase 3 homozygous tested Legbar ladies! this means I can swap out the Heterozygous ones in the olive egger pen and we are back on track for guaranteed Olives this year!!

the bad: these hens are younger than my current ones (just about to start laying) so they will likely need additional time to acclimate and start laying full sized eggs, so their babies may get a little later start to the season (hopefully by April)

With hatching season kicking off, we’ll have extra male chicks available weekly and are looking for a serious, reliable buyer 🐣
Preference will be given to someone able to commit to weekly pickup, though single-batch purchases may be considered.

$1 PER CHICK (and sometimes others that are thriving but not sellable are included for free)
These are ideal for raising meat birds for your family or feeding other animals.

Breeds are not selectable, but include Welsummers, Legbars, Bielefelder, and Olive Eggers. All are dual-purpose breeds, typically ready for processing around 6 months (sooner if harvested smaller). These are NOT Cornish cross, so they don't get gigantic, but they do make decent eating if you're patient!

❗️For those seeking breeding males: specific cockerels can be hand-picked and purchased separately for $5–$7 each.

👉 Please comment on this post with your level of interest (weekly pickup, one-time only, quantity, etc.). I will respond in the order comments are received once they start hatching

⚠️ Serious inquiries only. Last season we averaged 10–20 male chicks per week, with availability expected to begin February–early March.
