A client of mine met up with me a day after work to pick up his deer skull. He showed me the plaque that he was putting it on and it looked awesome! I asked who made it and he said his 14 year old son made it in the garage. I would like to share this plaque with everyone because of how good of a job this young man did and his work needs to be shown off

Ever seen a whitetail with canine teeth? Most deer don’t grow these, making this skull a rare genetic gem. These little “tusks” are leftover traits from ancient deer ancestors. They tell a fascinating story about whitetail genetics.

For hunters and collectors, finding a skull like this is a chance to get up close with nature’s quirks. Canines occure around 1%-2% of the time. If you have killed or been present for 100 deer harvests, upu probably had one and didn’t even know! Next time you shoot a deer or spot a whitetail skull, look closely, you never know what rare features you might uncover!
