** UPDATE: We have worked with the original owner (that the dog is microchipped to) and the dog has been signed back over to that owner.

** UPDATE: This dog is still decompressing and we are going VERY slow. He is growling but is accepting food from us. His harness is now off of him. Someone has to know who this dog belonged to. Please PM us if you think you know this dog. **

Dog was said to be a stray on the 2100 block of W Chestnut Avenue.

WHY? !
Why is this sweet girl growing up in rescue?🛟
We can tell you why. The overbreeding and buying of dogs during COVID has thrown rescues into a downward spiral. The longer they are in our care, the more $$$ it costs the organization. We are all buried in dogs. Pure breeds, mutts and crappy applications!
If we do not “lower our standards “for our dogs and just take the first application that comes in they wait. We also had an approved adopter who then after processing the entire app and even paying for a health certificate … they thought she might get too big! 🤦🏽‍♀️ We in rescue are tired. We want perfect for these already failed animals. They deserve the PERFECT FOREVER committed family.
Help us find that for her.
This sweet girl is named Amber. Her perfect home would have a larger dog sibling. She loves big dogs! This is what she wants and we won’t settle for anything less.
