Pacific North Woof Personalized dog training & pet care for easier day-to-day life
Rooted in trust, consistency & humane methods
📍 McMinnville + Yamhill County, OR

I started my career in California, first as a dog walker, where I quickly realized that so many of the behaviors I was seeing came down to communication, comfort, and understanding. That curiosity led me into training and behavior work, and I eventually became a certified trainer and behavior consultant. When I moved to Oregon, I knew I wanted to keep spending my days around animals — helping them

feel calm, secure, and happy while their families are away. Today, I offer in-home pet sitting and Sit & Train services designed for dogs and cats who thrive best in their own familiar space. Whether you have a shy cat, a sensitive rescue, or a dog who needs a little structure while you’re gone, I provide the kind of care I’d want for my own animals — consistent, compassionate, and completely personalized. CATCH Certified Trainer from CATCH Canine Trainers Academy | Certified Trainer & Behavior Consultant through the Dog Training Internship Academy | Fear Free Certified Professional | Advanced Provider Pet First Aid & CPR Certified

My approach goes far beyond feeding schedules and walks — it’s about connection and comfort. I take the time to learn what helps your dog or cat feel safe and supported, so they can relax while you’re away. When it comes to training, I only use positive reinforcement techniques that help build trust and confidence. I do not use corrective or punishing methods — no prong collars, no shock or e-collars. My goal is to make learning fun, motivating, and confidence-building for the animals I work with. Training should be something your dog enjoys and wants to keep practicing, not something they have to endure. For Sit & Train clients, that same philosophy guides every session. I focus on helping dogs build real-life skills while laying the foundation for continued progress long after the stay ends. Every animal has their own personality, history, and needs. My job is to meet them where they are and help them feel at ease. Whether it’s a cat who likes quiet company or a dog who needs a mix of play and structure, I adapt to what works best for them.

Phewwww March was quite a whirlwind with some back-to-back-to-back stays!

I am so grateful with how quickly this business is growing and I cannot wait to share all the exciting things I have planned for the dog parents in Yamhill County & MAC. 🎉🐾

🍀March kicked off with 5 days with Mr.Marvin (see linked reel for the story on how he helped me reunite a lost do with his owners!)

Then I wrapped up the second half of the month spending 10 days with The Royals 🤩 Khaleesi, Empress, Lady & Princess — the cuteness was honestly hard to stand at times, I mean JUST LOOK AT THEM. 😆🥹🥹🥹🥹

📖🐶🐾 STORY TIME

This happened a couple of weeks ago while pet sitting my client Marvin.

If it wasn’t for Marvin, I would not have been alerted to Elvis the frenchie being loose - nor would I have gone out there and saved him so that I could call his owners.

The amount of relief I was able to give Elvis’s parents and family was more than enough of a reward knowing he was safe - especially after crossing the 2 lanes on Baker Creek rd where not everyone goes the 35mph speed limit!

🚨THIS is why it is so critical to have your dogs collar and tags with updated contact information on them!
Had that not been the case it would’ve been much more difficult to reconnect Elvis with his parents and I hate imagining them waiting longer than they did for him to be found.

If they have medical needs or are deaf - I highly recommend adding a tag onto their collar (along with contact #) that says “NEEDS MEDS”, “HAS SEIZURES” or “IM DEAF” I know a few friends, clients and professionals that have added these tags to their animals and it’s such a brilliant idea!

Don’t like all the tags jiggling? Look up ‘Peace Tags’ on Amazon! It’s a Velcro pocket that can fit up to 3+ tags.

One of my favorite training hacks:
repurposed spice jars as treat jars.

Reinforcement simply means adding something your dog likes after a behavior so that behavior is more likely to happen again. Most often, that “something” is food.

The problem? The good behavior usually happens before we’re ready. Your dog lies calmly on their bed. Walks past the cat. Chooses a toy instead of your shoe. By the time you go find the treat bag… the moment is gone.

That’s why I keep small treat jars around the house using old spice containers. Now I can reinforce immediately when my dog makes a great choice.

→ ❗️It also helps with situations that make our dogs uncomfortable.

For example, Fern hates FedEx and UPS trucks. When she hears them and starts to ramp up, I grab a treat jar and start feeding before she fully explodes. Over time, those sounds start predicting good things instead of stress and she will come find me instead of losing her marbles at the delivery people. She gets good stuff, my ears get saved. 😆🙌 win-win!

And no—pairing food with something your dog is worried about does not reinforce fear or anxiety.

It actually helps change how they feel about the situation.
Faster reinforcement = clearer communication.
And clearer communication helps our dogs make better choices.

Most leash injuries happen because of how the leash is held.

Good leash handling helps protect your fingers, wrists, and shoulders — and keeps your dog safer too.

Simple adjustments = safer walks for everyone. 🐾

I learned this method back in 2015 when obtaining my dog walking certification and it has always stuck with me since, it’s now so ingrained in me that it’s my default setting when I grab a leash for walk - this has saved my hands & wrists more times than I could count.

Rain is coming! Time to plan some indoor activities for your pups!

February flew by! Last month I had two pet sitting bookings with the silliest animals.

Early Feb I had the pleasure of hanging out with Rhubarb🐈‍⬛ (Yep! I pet sit cats too!) We had a lot of play and lounge time together - don’t tell Fig! Lol

Ended the month with my favorite senior duo, Nicky & Dolly. This was my 2nd sit with these guys, they were so thrilled to see me walk in the door - it’s always heartwarming when clients animals remember me & get so excited they’re no longer bummed their parents left!

March is going to be a wild one (I’m only home 13 days out of the month!) It’s worth it though knowing all the pups will be at ease and less stressed with their parents gone. 🙌❤️

📣PET SITTING BOOKS - I am now BOOKED thru June and only accepting bookings for July as I will be taking August off.
