Lets go for a walk! After work, the girls got a good brushing and a little groundwork in and we took a walk down the driveway and back. A curious baby calf even wandered up like we were part of its herd, such a sweet little moment. A good job for everyone tonight.

Always a good time with Cody and at the 10th Annual Cargo Classic Run! Cory helped with parking, and it was such a treat to watch the kids enjoy horseback rides. The Cargo folks and volunteers were so welcoming to everyone! Just a beautiful morning filled with fun, community, and kindness!

Tonight Hudson helped Pop, making it three generations working together. Pop looked over at him and said, ‘You’re out here learning for free, should I be charging you tuition like your other school?’ Ha! Real-life lessons and good memories being made.

A few snapshots from a today.  It was a tender moment watching this little calf find its strength and helping it to suckle. We gave the calf a full bottle of warm milk and did our best to support them both. Mama will head to the vet tomorrow for some antibiotics. Cory got kicked in the arm too—he is okay, but he got his official welcome to ranch life! Cory and I always learn a lot with my dad and how they take good care of his cows.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Laykin!
Our sweet great-niece and one of Lorelei & Avail’s biggest fans turned three today!

Laykin already lives and breathes horses—sneaking away with my tack and loving on the girls every chance she gets. Her parents aren’t quite sure how they’ll keep her out of the barn!

The love she has for the horses shines through every frame. Here’s to a year full of wonder, ponies, and little boots.

Celebrating friendships and birthdays today!

Catie, Cody, and I have been friends since second grade—39 years of laughter, memories, and a bond that has only grown stronger. Today, we’re celebrating Catie’s birthday, honoring the beautiful, brilliant friend she is. She reminds me of Silver Springs, graceful, radiant, and timeless.

Grateful for friendships that last a lifetime. Happy Birthday, Catie!

Riding Lorelei with a truck and trailer coming in behind us, and she’s feeling extra powerful, especially with Avail eagerly waiting for her at the barn. I keep talking to her, reminding her to stay with me. I know she’d move even more beautifully if I let her gallop freely, but keeping it steady and sure comes first. Grateful for every ride with Lorelei!

Tonight was an unforgettable walk down memory lane as my former Meeker teammates and I were honored at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds for playing in the last official 6-on-6 girls’ basketball game ever recorded. On March 11, 1995, we stepped onto the court, marking the end of an era—not just in Oklahoma, but across the nation.

For this special occasion, I brought out a piece of history—my signed game ball from that night. Holding it again, surrounded by my teammates, brought back all the memories of the friendships, dedication, and incredible moments we shared. For those teammates who could not make it, they’re dearly missed. Once a team, always a team! 🏀
