Recent Hunkpapa Lakota Ledger Art commission i completed for Miss Standing Rock!!! Epic piece here, i like how it turned out!

Feeling proud and grateful! Thank you, Gilbert Kills Pretty Enemy III , for the ledger art featuring me as Miss Standing Rock. Love the incorporation the Dok Champa flowers. It added a special touch from my Laotian roots.

Had a awsome class this week down at the Cheyenne River Youth Project! Everyone caught on real quick as i talked bout the history of Ledger Art and we worked through the horse n rider drawings up til the Final project where i gave everyone a sheet of REAL ledger paper from 1864 to draw on!
There was a few who werent quite finished but regardless everyones turned out real nice and got the Chameleon Horse art & design Ledger art certificate today, proud of all these young men n women this week!!!

Set up shop at the Wetu Wacipi this weekend and in between $$$ales i asked few random dancers if i could draw them n some were cool bout others were stuck up lol...
But anyhoo i drew der pic n gave the ones who were cool bout it the originals and thanks for givn me sumn to do durn my free time !

Finally finished up this mural today!!! 28 hrs total time to finish this start to finish!!! this is at the Rock Creek Grant school gym in Bullhead South Dakota! some got to see the ALMOST completed mural durn the pow wow this past weekend.
so this one is done..off to the next mural!!!

Honoring John Fire Lame Deer
Name: Tȟáȟča Hušté
Birth date/place: March 17, 1903 – Rosebud Indian Reservation
Death date/place: December 14, 1976 – Rosebud Indian Reservation
Best known for: a Miniconju-Lakota Sioux and holy man. He was the grandson of the Miniconjou headman Lame Deer. Lame Deer's life as a young man was rough and wild; he traveled the rodeo circuit as a rider and later as a rodeo clown. Lame Deer was known both among the Lakota and to the American public at a time when indigenous culture and spirituality were going through a period of rebirth in the 1960s. He often participated in American Indian Movement events, including sit-ins at the Black Hills.

In 1972, Richard Erdoes published Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions. The book is about Lame Deer's later life when he decided that he wanted to be a teacher and a healer. Erdoes wrote of Lame Deer's opinions of Elk, Bear, Buffalo, Coyote, and Badger medicine and the importance Lakota ceremonial traditions played in his later life and eventual understanding of the world.
