Approximately three years ago, a lady from a Giant Schnauzer rescue group reached out to me about her Giant Schnauzer, Thor, who was showing extreme aggression toward bikes, scooters, and similar things. Since she lived in another state, we did a phone consultation.

About a month ago, she contacted me again about her new rescue Schnauzer, a one-year-old female who was showing very aggressive behavior toward Thor and her other three dogs.

What you’ll read below is what she told me about Thor after our first phone consultation. I’ll let her words speak for themselves.

We recently completed another phone consultation for her new Schnauzer, and I’m posting a video of how wonderfully these two dogs are now getting along.

Let me also add this: I offer phone consultations for people who live outside my area or even outside my state. Those consultations often last two to three hours.

Hello, all of you wonderful dog lovers! Thanks for following me—I truly appreciate you.

Today I got to work with this wonderful Pit Bull named Daisy, who was rescued about a year ago.

The issue the owner was having was that Daisy had nipped several people. And when I say “nipped,” I mean nipped—she did not bite.

When I first walked in the door, she charged and barked. She did the things that many fear aggressive dogs do, or dogs that don’t understand how the pack works. Because of that, they don’t realize everything is okay because the owner has things under control. This usually happens when there’s a miscommunication between the owner and the dog.

During the session, Daisy charged at me several times and barked ferociously, but she never tried to bite me except for one time. That happened because of a leash-handling mistake made by one of the family members. Even then, she went for a controlled nip—not a bite—so I want to make that clear.

It was a really great session. I was able to walk her, show the family how to make answering the door much calmer, and I was able to pet her throughout the session. I would even do things to intentionally set her off, and it almost became a game. As soon as she would charge and bark, I would laugh, walk right up to her, and put my hands on her face. She never tried to nip me.

Now the owners have a clear path to helping Daisy become the great dog that I know she is. You can tell by this video how much I trusted her.

Hello your wonderful Dog lovers. Thanks for following me, I appreciate you. So this post today is very special and I want to use the owners own words about our session. So here you go.

After trying just about everything for our rescue dog, Cubli Wu, we finally found Aaron Stewart at The Educated Dog.

Cubli is an extremely fearful, reactive, resource-guarding Pekingese with a bite history. We had already worked with a behavioral veterinarian, tried medication, and worked with two highly qualified reward-based, fear-free trainers. Despite our best efforts, we simply weren't making progress.

Aaron's approach is completely different, but that does NOT mean it's cruel. I would never allow that. Everything he did was calm, confident, and purposeful. He never yelled or tried to frighten Cubli. During our four-hour session, Cubli attacked him several times and even broke the skin on his arm. Aaron handled every situation calmly and safely, and by the end of the session Cubli was voluntarily walking up to him for attention. That alone spoke volumes to me.

Even more amazing were the changes we saw in just one session. I was able to pet Cubli's head, something that had become incredibly difficult. Cubli also remained completely calm while someone used our guest bathroom, which previously would have triggered frantic barking and attempts to chase and bite.

What impressed me most wasn't just the changes in Cubli, but how much Aaron taught James and me. We realized that many things we thought were perfectly normal were actually contributing to Cubli's emotional state. Aaron helped us understand how to communicate with our dog in a way that helps him feel safe instead of feeling responsible for controlling every situation.

We know one session doesn't magically solve years of behavioral issues, and the real work now belongs to us. But for the first time since adopting Cubli, we genuinely feel hopeful. Aaron understood our dog in a way no one else had.

Somewhat to my embarrassment, I actually started to cry as Aaron was leaving. That is very unlike me. It wasn't because I thought Cubli was "fixed." It was because, for the first time in a very long time, I truly felt he had a chance.

If you have a fearful, reactive, aggressive, or resource-guarding dog and feel like you've run out of options, I can't recommend Aaron highly enough. He was worth every penny.”
