Meet Mobey!

The Animal Hospital of McHenry has hired a new Paw-fficer in charge of patient and client satisfaction and he is wasting no time getting down to business in his new role!

Mobey loves his new job, but we know this is just a steppingstone as he climbs the ladder of success. His professional goals include a home of his own with a human or two to look out for. He excels at cuddles, lap time and keyboard work, though the legibility of his emails has room for improvement. We think he would work well as part of a team, with a kitty or canine co-worker to show him the ropes.

He is a young go-getter (around 5 years old) and he is exceptionally polite, chatty and eager to make a good impression on everyone he meets.

Stop by our Hospital to meet Mobey and please share this post to help him find his new home!

Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of the passing of our precious Gordon. Over the last several months, Gordon's health has been declining as he suffered from hypertension and advancing kidney failure. Lately he had been letting us know that life was not much fun for him anymore. As his family, we made the difficult decision to send him across the Rainbow Bridge and give him the peace and relief he deserved.

Gordon is already missed so deeply in our everyday lives. We look for him underfoot, in our offices and sitting on his chair behind the front desk making sure reception runs smoothly. A small black shadow can still be seen out of the corner of our eyes when the fridge that keeps the whip cream is opened. Dr. Schmitt is missing her supervisor on her office desk, and she no longer has a friend to share her lunches.

Gordon always made sure that clients were greeted warmly when they arrived and made sure to peek in on exam rooms for quality control purposes. He may have been a little feisty with our canine patients, but his demand for proper patient behavior just couldn't be compromised. He busied himself in the cabinets during down time, checking on inventory and making sure supplies stayed stocked and he always had time to inspect a new nook or cranny for napping. No Churu was ever left unfinished, and no solo shift was ever lonely with him on the job.

We miss you so much, handsome boy. Thank you for making our workplace feel like home.

We are working hard to raise fund for Magnum. A victim of horrific abuse who now needs to have TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery to repair his cruciate ligament and bone break caused by blunt force trauma. So on top of being burned our sweet boy was also being abused severely...all before turning one years old. Please help him ease the pain and look forward to his happily ever after.

Fosters desperately needed!!!!!

Fierce is assisting volunteers from A Place For Hope Rescue in McHenry with trapping a colony of cats in Pistakee Highlands who will receive TNR services next week through ANIMAL SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, INC.

When we went out recently to the neighborhood we are helping, we have discovered that there are already several groups of kittens that need to be rescued. We are taking in two of those groups today.

We need your help!

We need a foster home for this group of three kittens! We will likely need a few more available foster homes once we start trapping this weekend.

These kittens are about 6 weeks old, all independently eating on their own, and simply require a space to grow and thrive for a few weeks while we start their vaccines and get them ready to be adopted.

You need a space where they can be separated from any animals you have. That space can be a crate and we can loan one to you if needed.

We cover all medical expenses, and provide the supplies you need to feed these little hungry critters!

Being a completely volunteer run not-for-profit who relies on foster homes, we simply cannot keep helping groups of kittens without places for them to go.

If you can step up and help, now is the time. Please reach out to us via Facebook Messenger, or email us at [email protected]!

Thank you for your continued support of what we do.

Winter is Wonderful. What are you waiting for?

Hey guys, Winter here. I heard the humans talking about how it’s Memorial Day weekend…there were talks of parties and barbecues and family time. I got really excited for a minute, but then realized…I don’t have a family yet. No fun get-togethers, burgers on the grill or extra pets and loves for me. Just another weekend ahead like the rest—potty time, training time, some outside time to try and chase squirrels and be told to leave it, and then back to my crate. I was hoping maybe I could ask you something…while you are out with all your friends and family, could you show them my picture? Most people never get to see me or even know I exist, I know my furever family is out there, but they have to find me first. I’ll just be here waiting, hoping one day I hear the words that I get to go on a meet and greet to someone who wants me. Signed, Winter…hoping I can have a family by summer.
