Horse friends…. Every few years I wonder what Lily’s backstory is. I purchased her from a neighbor in Oct 2010. She was approx. 2.5 yo putting her at a 2007 model.

Lily (Sugar at the time) was left to my neighbor as payment for back rent with another horse by Charlie Parnell. I know he frequented auctions and am wondering if anyone knows which ones…. Kalona? Any others? And would they have records of horses that were auctioned off and purchased by him going back to 2010? I believe he only had her a few months. Sabatini Regina Tess Sabatini do you remember? I think you were there at the same time?

Charlie was a horse trader so she may have been local and not through the auction pipeline but I would love to try to dig again if anyone has insights/leads/ideas.

Photos from 2010 when I went to look at her, brought her home and her color panel showing she has at least some Appy or POA lineage.

Mike is retiring and literally rode off into the sunset on his last night as a farm owner! Thank you all for an amazing 25 years. Lifelong friendships and priceless memories have been forged through the decades and we couldn’t have done it without Martin and all of you.

Please share any pictures, memories, stories over the years…. It’s been a wild ride!

ETA: Big Mike is actually going to retire! Farm has been for sale is is closing this Thursday at 9am. It’s being bought by a wonderful horse family and will stay a horse farm. Great things to come just an end of an era.

My heart is shattered. These are the most honest and amazing horsemen and people I’ve ever met. Many fond memories of my time in Omaha are at this farm. Please help in anyway you can.

Jim, Patrice, Dan, Mike, Tom, Angie, family and friends, I’m so sorry you are going through this but if anyone is strong enough, you all are. I still treasure my time at Quail Run all those years ago, I wish I was there to lend a hand. Prayers are with you. 💕
