We have a bittersweet announcement to make.
Baggie's Beggies is going on a hiatus and will be rebranding. Our website has been shut down for now.
A little background - a few months ago, we went to try to protect our brand by registering Baggie's Beggies as a trademark. We did an extensive trademark search and found no matches.
Our application attracted the attention of a major pet food brand who claims we were diluting their brand name by using our name. Baggie's Beggies highly disagrees with this, and we truly believe that in a court of law, we would be able to prove that there is nothing in our brand that violates their trademark or dilutes it.
However, we are a very small start-up, and we do not have the finances nor the time to fight high-powered corporate lawyers.
We have agreed to abandon our trademark. We will need time to rebrand and even though we have reached an agreement that will allow us to use the brand well into next year, we decided it will be an exercise in futility to try to build a brand while also trying to rebrand.
We made the difficult decision to abandon all marketing and selling efforts for now, take a step back, rethink and rebrand the business. We have a name: "Baggie's Bespoke Barkery". We also intend to focus more on customized experiences - custom treats, special occasions and holidays, and classes - and not focus so much on general inventory items. All our popular flavors will be available on-demand though!
Please continue to follow this page as we will use it to announce our rebranding efforts as we get there. Also, we will be selling through our currently branded items and reduced prices after the first of the year.
