New to the barn? We’ve all been there. Walking into a horse barn for the first time can feel a little overwhelming—so many stalls, so many horses, so many “unspoken rules.” But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

This quick guide to basic barn etiquette will help you feel right at home. From keeping gates latched to asking before entering a stall, these small steps make a big difference for horse safety and barn harmony. Horses are happiest (and safest) when visitors and riders know how to move around them with confidence and respect.

Think of this as your crash course in horse barn manners. Respect quiet spaces, keep things tidy, and when in doubt—just ask! Most equestrians love sharing their knowledge, and every barn family remembers what it’s like to be the “new person.” Asking questions shows you care about the horses and want to be part of the community.

We have a couple of stalls open to either mares or geldings at our large barn!

☀️ Secure, gated farm with multiple large paddocks
☀️ 12x12 stalls with mats and water
☀️ Two wash racks
☀️ Two climate-controlled tack rooms
☀️ Triple Crown Senior feed and supplements stored in a secure, climate-controlled feed room
☀️ Feeding & cleaning twice daily
☀️ Seasonal rotational turnout in segregated herds
☀️ Small dry lots available for rehabilitation
☀️ Access to arenas with river sand footing, jumps and lights
☀️ Trailer parking available
☀️ Fly spray and fly gear application in the summer and blanketing in the winter
☀️ Acres and acres outside of the arena to ride (including a creek crossing we just cleared last week)
☀️ Barn manager and trainer lives on site (training and lesson packages available)
☀️ Holding for vet, farrier, bodyworker, etc. available
☀️ Fun, laid back group of boarders and adult students to hang out with!
All this for $800/month! We can’t wait to see you on the farm!

Summer heat’s no joke — and if you’ve ever pulled up to the barn for a ride and wondered "Is it too hot to work today?"...you're not alone.

At our barns, we’ve adjusted our turnout schedules (hello, cool night air 🌙) and we’re always keeping an eye on hydration, rest time, and comfort so your horse stays safe and ride-ready, even when the temps spike.

There’s still plenty you can do to help your horse stay cool and comfortable , even if you’re not the one doing daily chores! We pulled together some practical, rider-friendly summer tips that make a real difference: ride timing, grooming routines, signs of heat stress to watch for, and more.

If you ever feel unsure, we’re happy to talk through what’s best for your horse.

Team Orange did amazing at yesterday’s Summer Sizzler!

🧡 Alexa and Olson finished in first place for their first CT 🥳
🧡 Ava and Bo came in third in the same division with a lovely jump round 🐎
🧡 Blair and Bo came in second in the amoeba CT, improving on their dressage score 🌟
🧡 Abbi and Flame brought home third for their starter HT and had a very speedy (and fun to watch) XC round 💨

Congratulations to trainer Sarah Edwards for a successful, well rounded showing at this horse trial with Team Orange!

Special thanks to our non-riding teammates Ashley and Jessica for coming out to support and help us with tacking, hosing, grooming, and holding during our back-to-back rounds! We’re also so thankful to the countless family members and friends who came out to show their support. We wouldn’t be without you!

Jessica Rakowiecki and her mare, Maisie, joined our sporthorse barn in March with a goal of building confidence and eventually stepping into the eventing world. Since arriving, they’ve made incredible progress — both in the saddle and in their partnership.

Maisie is thriving in our training program with Sarah Edwards and Jessica has grown into a more confident, capable rider with each lesson. Watching them learn, grow, and dream bigger has been such a joy for our team!
