We had a great time at the Florida Taxidermy Convention and Competition put on by the Florida State Taxidermy Association. This was my first time being able to attend my home state show. We also passed a major milestone in our goals. Since I started this business my goal has always been to provide the highest quality work that i could, and competition is a huge part of that journey. At the show this year i competed in Masters division and recieved the highest score in the waterfowl category, earning the Best of Category (state champion) and Ducks Unlimited awards. I also had a great time participating in the Mount off competition, where participants mount an animal of their choice in a 3.5 hour time frame while at the show, completing one of my favorite ducks, the Harlequin.

With the 2025-26 season upon us we have a few announcements to make.

Pricelist:
Ducks: $525
Geese: $675
Large Canada Geese: $1145
Sandhill Crane/Swan: $1495
Turkey: $1545

This year we will be taking in no more than 250 birds to ensure that our turnaround stays at a manageable and acceptable time.

Deposit will be 50%, 2 weeks before work is scheduled to begin we will contact clients to pay the balance, work will not begin until the balance is paid. As many of our clients know, we have very limited space in our shop, so birds need to be picked up in a timely manner as not to cause a backup.

Driftwood will no longer be included in the price of the mount. I really struggled with this decision, but decided to go this route to encourage clients to consider habitat/artistic bases to go with their birds rather than just driftwood. Our mission in this shop is to provide the absolute highest quality products that we can, and habitat is just as important for a quality piece as a quality bird.

Shipping: we will be offering shipping for clients who dont live close enough to drive to us. We have spent quite a bit of time learning and understanding the challenges of shipping and how to prevent damage in transit to the best extent that we can and are now comfortable with shipping products out. Larger birds that require it will come with detachable wings, both saving space/shipping cost and reducing risk of damage.

We will continue to participate heavily in competition to gain knowledge/expertise in an effort to continue on our journey to produce the highest quality work possible. As some have seen already, we hit a major milestone this past season scoring a blue ribbon in Masters division at competition, but we still have much to do!
