As we approach the fall months, it’s important to reflect back on your horses, and which ones may have struggled over the winter months maintaining weight previously. Our horses need to eat a bit more during the winter months to withstand the colder temps. If you’ve noticed quidding, dropping feed, or difficulty chewing/shifting food to one side of the mouth, it’s important to have them checked before these cold months settle in.

Please reach out, and we can make sure your horses mouth is in excellent shape!

We will travel to you, no haul in required.

‼️‼️‼️PSA‼️‼️‼️

When in doubt, have your horses checked, at a very minimum! Horses are incredibly resilient animals, and may show very little to no signs of needing dental work performed.
Horses are classified as “hypsodonts” meaning their teeth grow continuously throughout their lifetime. This allows them to chew fibrous roughage and not “wear out” their teeth. As their teeth grow, they don’t always wear them evenly, which leads to imbalances. Imbalances make it difficult for them to effectively grind their feed, which can lead to painful, sharp enamel points, hooks and ramps.

It is extremely crucial to have your horses checked for imbalances, hooks and ramps, as these can all lead to performance issues, weight loss, pain and infection to name a few.

If you are unsure of whether or not your horse is having issues, please reach out. As a horse owner myself, peace of mind knowing they aren’t fighting pain that goes unseen, puts the mind at ease.

Here are a few snaps from over the past couple of weeks. Many of these horses showed no evident signs of pain, and seemed perfectly “fine” from the outside looking in. All horses were carefully evaluated for imbalances, points, and hooks. Their owners were allowed to see and feel exactly where problems were beginning, or pre existing, and were able to leave knowing their horses were well taken care of.

Got to take care of these adorable minis yesterday! Sadly one of them had some of the worst teeth I have seen yet. Owners, be sure to have these little ones checked! It’s still important to make sure they can eat properly and comfortably!

Yes, we are super cute, and YES, we still need our teeth checked, just like regular size horses!!!!

All basic evaluations are FREE! If you’re unsure on whether or not it’s time to have your horse floated, or if you think something may have been missed during their last float, we would be glad to check!!
