McCook Humane Society

McCook Humane Society Saving just one pet won't change the world, but surely, the world will change for that one pet!

Our organization is committed to keeping pets safe, happy and healthy while they wait to be placed in a forever home. Since 1983 the McCook Humane Society has provided a temporary home for puppies and kittens, as well as adult dogs, cats and any temporarily homeless pet. We are dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in Southwest Nebraska and North

west Kansas, while also continuing in our mission of education in Responsible Pet Ownership. We are classified as a No Kill Shelter and strive to be as low kill as possible and give them every opportunity to find forever homes.

Barks of joy! This guy's family came an picked him up!

FOUND: This adult unaltered male was found on the 500 block of East 7th and brought to the McCook Humane Society Saturday, May 2nd. He's not wearing a collar/tag, nor is he microchipped. We need to find this guy's owner quickly.
A reddish Bully breed was spotted with him.

He is a stray and not available for adoption. If he's your furkid, our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 2pm until 5pm and Saturdays from Noon until 4pm. If not claimed by an owner within five days, he will then no longer be a stray, and we will start the process to make him available for adoption.
