To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. We've been responsibly breeding dogs to the best of our ability for over 20 years. We always go above and beyond to do things right by our dogs and our customers. We have many happy owners all over the US and even some in other countries. Covid was crazy and dog prices went crazy and people went crazy. We did not price gouge our customers like every other breeder I know because I respected our established clients and couldn't do that to them. With the price of puppies at an all-time high, everyone decided to become a "breeder" overnight. Now the market is flooded with poor quality puppies for dirt cheap (you get what you pay for!) I hear the horror stories of poorly bred, sickly puppies that weren't even the breed they were supposed to be from parents that never even saw a vet, let alone had any health testing done. I hear the regret and see people's pain when they came back to me for a quality puppy because they didn't want the heartache or expense of a puppy mill puppy. And I was still here for them, still producing quality puppies. Trying to even break even the last two years has become very difficult and I'm exhausted trying to do it. The daily work is still there. The dogs and puppies still need the same level of care and the same time invested whether puppies are selling or not. I'm putting hours upon hours of my time into this and it's costing me money from our other businesses to keep it going. I'm VERY close to hanging it up. I've hung on for this long because I want to be here when people need me but it just isn't making sense for me to pour myself into this and not even be able to make a living at it. I have a few absolutely gorgeous, happy healthy puppies available right now and I have them all at "make an offer" and still no one wants them. I keep hearing "now isn't the right time, we'll come back later" but just know that if something doesn't change, there's a very good chance that we won't be here.
