Anyone from North or South Meadow Creek area missing a black intact male cat. He’s very sweet but has a gross upper respiratory infection. He also had some mats on his back, seems like a younger age cat. Dr Jen is calling him “Snots” until he finds a home!

Please do not come to the clinic today!!! We have huge drifts at the clinic and house and are telling people to stay home! Please call us before even attempting to come to the clinic!

Scientists are still trying to understand which animals may be susceptible to the new coronavirus. Much is unknown, but there’s no evidence so far that pets can spread the virus to people.

Here's an important reminder from one of our FAQ images - Can pets spread COVID-19 to people?

Additionally, there is no reason to remove pets from homes even if COVID-19 has been identified in members of the household, unless there is risk that the pet itself is not able to be cared for appropriately. During this pandemic emergency, pets and people each need the support of the other and veterinarians are there to support the good health of both. https://bit.ly/34bXBJg

ANIMALS AND COVID-19

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses. Some coronaviruses cause cold-like illnesses in people, while others cause illness in certain types of animals, including cattle and horses.

As concern continues to climb over the novel coronavirus outbreak, we want to reassure you that there is no evidence at this time that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19 or that they might be a source of infection in the United States. Please keep in mind that this is a rapidly evolving situation, and information will be updated as it becomes available.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) still recommends that you limit contact with animals if you are confirmed to have the coronavirus, but please don't abandon them in fear they become a source of infection.
You can read the AVMA's FAQs for pet owners here:https://www.avma.org/sites/default/files/2020-03/covid-19-faq-pet-owners_031520.pdf

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association reassures pet owners following the news that a dog in Hong Kong, quarantined after it had tested positive for SARSCoV-2, has died.
