Kam and Willow did amazing at their appointment yesterday. Kam is finally getting comfortable with his cone of shame and Willow has been moving around more and finally eating.
Bitter sweet moment...no more puppies but also no more puppies! 🥺🤣

This poor peanut had some swelling of her ears yesterday. I took her to the vet after work thinking she may have had a reaction to the ear cleaner I used after her bath as the other 2 puppies did not show any issues. She was diagnosed with Puppy Strangles. While I have heard about juvenile cellulitis and I have seen many pictures of it in my breeding groups I had zero experience with dealing with it personally and her symptoms did not match the pictures I have seen. Luckily for both her and me it was discovered VERY early on and treated immediately! Less than 24 hours later she is already doing so much better! All of the swelling in her ears is gone and she shows no other signs or symptoms. She is on a preventive antibiotic to help if any secondary infection may occur due to scratching at her ears. It was most likely caused by her first set of vaccinations and she is expected to fully recover within the next week. She will stay with us for at least the next 6 days just to be on the safe side. While no breeder wants to ever deal with this situation I am happy that she was still in my care when her symptoms started. River is still available for adoption but I would feel much better keeping her until I can without a doubt say she is fully healed and ready for her new home.
