“This is not Not NOT Okay!” - Adele the Diva Chicken

Seriously? So we went to Miller School today and read a kindness book. My mom is teaching about how all the animals at the Funny Farm get along! And so can they.

Meanwhile, Buddy the baby lamb is chasing me all over the gym!!!! I’m like stop stop mom mom but she’s reading a book!

Nothing is working! He keeps chasing me!

Then, after I exhausted all options, I dove into a group of kids to get him off my tail!

Literally!

Apparently, Buddy needs to read the kindness books a little more cause…

Thank You TD Bank!!!!

We were so grateful to welcome this small but mighty group from TD Bank back to the Funny Farm to volunteer again today!

Despite torrential downpours, mud everywhere, and challenging conditions, these hardworking women showed up ready to help wherever needed.
They tackled refreshing the bird waters, scooping the entire cow paddock and even ended their day helping with the Great Peacock Roundup nearly a mile from the farm!

Their kindness, dedication, teamwork, and positive attitudes mean so much to us and to the animals. We truly appreciate groups like this who continue to come back and support the Funny Farm with such compassion and heart.

Thank you all for another amazing volunteer day!

“All In A Days Work”

At the Funny Farm, you never know what each day will bring.

Today, a peacock rescue. Just as they were leaving after a long day of volunteering, Laurie said, “hey do you want to help us rescue some peacocks?”

What could go wrong?

Despite Craig’s sweet talk to this little pea-hen on the way home, she left him a very unexpected and unpleasant surprise on his leg!

After the rescue, just as they were getting ready to drive home, Leanna (holding her nose) said, “Craig, take off those pants!”

He did.

They drove off…

We just hope they didn’t get pulled over on their way home since Craig’s pants were airing out near the tailgate! Imagine how Craig would explain that to the policeman!

We love their sense of humor! Some of the nicest people you ever want to meet!

Remember the angels with the big crane that showed up outta nowhere and pulled Yogi out of the mud just when we were all out of options and on our last string of hope?

These are those same angels! They showed up today in the pouring rain and the mud. The rain literally stopped.

This is Jared, Becca, and their beautiful daughters. They own JPX Excavation & Tree Service.

They are our friends, our family, and some of the greatest people we know. When we really needed them, they were there.

We will never forget that.

And we will love them forever.
