Dirk is here with an announcement!

We would like to inform you we will be closed today, 8/26/2026. Unfortunately, all staff as caught the flu. While staff is still here to care for the animals, we will not be open to prevent the spread of illness.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding.

We still have 6 more days left of Clear the Shelter Month! If you've been wanting to adopt a new pet, now is the time! After 8/31/2026, our adoption fees will go back to normal! Be sure to stop in and take a look at the beautiful dogs and cats we have who are waiting for their new forever home.

We would also like to mention tomorrow is National Dog Day! If you can't make it today, we will be open tomorrow from 12-4 for adoptions. What better way to celebrate than to give a dog a new loving home!

This is Freckles. She is around 7 years old. She went missing around noon yesterday from the Northside Baptist Church area of Mayfield. SHE IS MICROCHIPPED! If you find her, please bring her to Mayfield-Graves County Animal Shelter or to a vet clinic to be scanned so she may be returned home to her family!

You've seen him posted as a stray back in March, posted for adoption, pictured at our event last weekend, and most recently as our Forever Home Friday yesterday!

Barkley is still searching for his forever home and is currently out longest stay resident! He is the sweetest, goofiest, loving boy you could meet. He is a 2 year old pointer mix. He does great with other dogs, cats, and kids. He loves to play outside, especially in a fence where he can run freely! He's always smiling and never meets a stranger. He just loves everyone.

Through the end of this month, his adoption fee is $75. He is current on all vaccines, has been dewormed, received flea/tick prevention for the current month, and is heartworm negative! He does still need to be neutered and microchipped which is included in his adoption fee!
