Do you use white poles when teaching and running blinds?

At High Performance Retrievers, we don’t use white poles at all.

From Force to Pile all the way through Pattern Blinds, we teach the spot, not a visible marker. We want our dogs to understand where they’re going and confidently drive to that location on the “Back” command—not rely on seeing a white pole.

Every trainer has their own system, and there’s more than one way to build a great retriever.

What’s your opinion?
