Overgrown nails for dogs are like walking in shoes that are too tight all day every day! The toes are constantly under pressure from the nails pressing into the ground, and even get twisted sideways or can have the nails grow back INTO the pad and create an open wound! And twisted or tender toes can result in joint issues throughout the body, as the dog will adjust their posture or gait to avoid the pain in their feet. 😱

Some tips to keep your pets safe from hazardous air conditions! Remember that only a few minutes of vigorous play or strenuous exercise can compromise your pet's lungs for weeks. Younger and older pets are the most vulnerable, as well as individuals with flat faces or otherwise compromised airways or breathing conditions.

Keep those pets inside, safe, and snuggled up! 🐶💞

We are experiencing a very hazardous air quality index currently and wanted to share some tips on how to keep your pets healthy and safe 💜

• Keep pets indoors
• Keep windows and doors closed
• Keep bathroom breaks short
• Wipe their fur with a damp cloth after being outdoors
• Make sure clean water is accessible
• Monitor for any abnormal behavior

Please contact your veterinarian if your pet is displaying any respiratory issues, or other out of the ordinary symptoms.

We are limiting the outdoor time of our shelter dogs and taking proper precautions to keep our staff safe as well ❤️
