We are looking for help again!

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning shift.

Duties include…
AM hay and grain
Mucking stalls
Filling hay nets outside(when applicable)
Cleaning water buckets and troughs
Cleaning aisle way
Blanketing(when applicable)

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, punctuality and reliability. We have anywhere from 6-8 horses on the property at a time so we are not a huge facility however we take pride in the cleanliness and care we provide to our horses. We have a couple older horses who require specialized medications and feeding schedules, so experience with something like that would be preferred. Horse experience is a MUST! We love helping bring new people into the horse world and training up anyone who doesn’t have the experience, however our time is limited this fall and we do not have time to train.

The riders from Flying K Horses had a pretty successful show day at the Ohio Foundation Quarter Horse Association yesterday! One more show of this season and then planning and preparing begins for next year.

A little curiosity and self guided discovery from our big guy!

We have began introducing some “obstacles” into Atlas’s daily routine. While these are everyday objects to most horses, these are potential predators to him. Some of them make noises, some of them move with the breeze and he is trying to figure out if they are a threat to him or not. Introducing these items to him in an “at liberty” environment allows him the chance to be curious but get away if he feels he needs to. A couple days of him guiding himself through these new challenges will bring a little bit more confidence to the table once I start asking him to allow me to move these items around him, over top of him, and touch him with them.

We have made some big improvements this past week with picking up ALL FOUR FEET, standing like a gentleman to be groomed and fly sprayed, backing off the halter, dropping his head and last night we were able to introduce the flag during our groundwork which he did allow with only minor concern.

I continue to be amazed by his willingness to be my partner even when he’s not sure of what we are doing. We are able to muck out his stall with him in it as well and his leading has improved ten fold.

He is going to make someone a wonderful partner when the time comes!

We have filled the position at the facility! Thank you to everyone who interviewed and if I didn’t get back to you I apologize. We have had a huge amount of interest and we are so grateful for all of you for reaching out to help us keep our facility up and running!

Hiring!!

We are looking for a motivated individual to help with Monday, Wednesday, Friday evening shift and Saturday morning and evening shift.

We are a small privately owned facility with 10 stalls. We currently have 7 horses on the property all of which are easy to handle good citizens.

Duties would include…
AM:
Morning feeding and turnout(weather permitting)
Filling and cleaning water troughs
Mucking stalls
Filling hay feeders
Dumping, cleaning and refilling water buckets
Cleaning the aisle way
Spreading manure

Fly sheet or winter blanket application depending on season.

PM:
Turn in
Evening feeding(refilling hay and water in stalls if horses were inside that day)
Restocking hay for AM shift
Cleaning aisle way
Watering and providing hay to cattle

We are looking for someone who is timely, takes pride in their work, and is reliable. Ideally this person would have horse experience however we are willing to train the right person. They must also be able to operate a side by side and spreader and be comfortable taking care of cattle.

This is not a work off board opportunity as our empty stalls are only open for training horses at this time.
