💙🐾 November is Pet Diabetes Awareness Month 🐾💙

Just like people, our pets can develop diabetes — but with early detection, proper care, and a little extra love, diabetic pets can live long, happy, healthy lives! 💛

⚕️ Watch for common signs:
🐶 Increased thirst or urination
🐱 Increased hunger with weight loss
😴 Low energy or cloudy eyes

If you notice any of these changes, schedule a checkup with your veterinarian. Early diagnosis makes all the difference!

At Massapequa Hospital for Animals, we’re here to support you and your pets every step of the way. 💚

Together, we can raise awareness and help keep our furry family members healthy.

💛🌎🐾 Happy World Kindness Day! 🐾🌎💛

Today, let’s celebrate the simple acts of kindness that make the world — and our community — a better place. 💕

Whether it’s sharing a smile, helping a neighbor, or giving your furry friend an extra treat (or belly rub 🐶🐱), every act of kindness counts!

At Massapequa Hospital for Animals, we believe kindness is at the heart of great veterinary care — for pets and the people who love them. 💚

Let’s spread compassion today and every day! ✨

☕🐶 Happy National Cappuccino Day! 🐱💛

Whether you’re sipping your favorite cappuccino or cuddling up with your furry friend, take a moment to paws and enjoy the warmth today! 🐾✨

Just a friendly reminder from Massapequa Hospital for Animals — while we love our coffee, keep those cappuccinos and other caffeinated treats far away from your pets! ☕🚫
Even small amounts of caffeine can be harmful to cats and dogs.

So pour yourself an extra cup, brew up some love, and give your pets a little extra attention instead. 💕

🐱 Early detection can make all the difference — regular wellness exams and at-home checks are key!

🩺 If you notice unusual lumps, bumps, changes in appetite, or behavior, don’t wait — schedule a checkup.
Our team is here to help every step of the way with compassion and care. 💚

Together, we can spread hope and awareness. 💫

Schatz DVM Dr. Howard Schatz is a native of New York City, having been born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens and having graduated from Jamaica High School. He attended Cornell University, receiving his undergraduate degree in Biology. He is a 1975 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. After gaining valuable experience working in other hospitals, including an emergency clinic, Dr. Schatz arrived in Massapequa in 1978. He and Dr. Fish purchased the Massapequa Hospital for Animals in 1982. Dr, Schatz is happily married and has 3 sons and 2 daughters. He is now also blessed with 4 grandchildren. His professional interests include internal medicine and practice management. He is an avid Yankees, Jets and Islanders fan, enjoys family time and ancestry research. Stanley G. If you don’t see Dr. Fish in the office, he is probably relaxing on a Caribbean beach. Joi Pacchiano DVM Dr. Pacchiano began her college education as a journalism major at New York University but transferred to SUNY Albany where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology before realizing her true dream of becoming a veterinarian. In 2001, Dr. Pacchiano graduated from Oklahoma State University with honors as a member of the Society of Phi Zeta.
