Iโm so happy youโre still with us, Rosie Girl! โค๏ธ
*Warning: Traumatic Story Follows*
Yesterday afternoon, Rosie gave her mother and I a scare of a lifetime! It started out as a normal afternoon, taking Rosie for a little walk. Waving the bag of carrots in front of her for motivation ๐ฅ Rosie is a 15 year old miniature Schnauzer that is stubborn as all hell, unless thereโs carrots involved ๐ We come back from our little walk and I helped lift Rosie into the sink, so her mama could bathe her and help soothe her itchy skin. While her mom gave her a bath, I took Rosieโs brother, Jack for a walk. We come back from the walk, just in time to help Rosie out of her bath. I pick Rosie up and place her on the floor. Rosieโs walking around the living room in her bathrobe, when all of sudden, she falls into the coffee table. Weโre thinking her paw got caught, making her lose her balance. So as me and her mom go to help her up, we notice she has gone limp and sheโs not breathing anymore. Her eyes have rolled back and she lets out a groan. At this moment, we thought we were losing her.
I start rubbing her and breathing into her nose. I remember I kept saying โRosie, you stay with me!โ
I was about to do chest compressions, when she miraculously opens her eyes and looks at me!
After a few minutes, she sits up on her own and then gets up to walk away, like nothing happened lol.
This was a terrifying moment, I donโt wish on any pet parent.
I truly believe I was in the right place at the right time. And Saint Francis of Assisi was there in helping us guide Rosie back to us.
Rosie, you old gal, youโre not going anywhere! Not for another 15 years or more!
